My Projects
TB Subunit Vaccine Bioreactor
As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, we were tasked with designing a bioreactor for the production of a TB yeast vaccine for use in Uganda. My individual contribution was the design and development of an impedance probe to monitor yeast concentration, enabling the team to determine the optimal time to harvest cells for vaccine production.

Finger Brace (Fusion360)
Using an ambient temperature sensor and a heart rate sensor, we designed a smart watch capable of monitoring hydration needs and providing personalised reminders based on the user’s lifestyle.

FEA - simulation of a lateral fall
Oral Cancer Screening App
By training an image classification network to detect various conditions associated with oral cancer, my team and I developed an app that could analyse user-submitted images and provide guidance on appropriate next steps. The project aimed to promote earlier intervention in healthcare, shifting the focus from treatment towards early detection.
Through simulating a real-world lateral fall on a femur bone and analysing both the distribution of stress and displacement and the validity of the model, I learnt vital skills associated with FEA (finite element analysis).

In order to teach myself Fusion360, I decided to design a finger splint for a Boutonnière index finger rupture, taking into account material properties, finger dimensions, and the user experience.
